Hi, I’m Sarahlynn!

I am a mindfulness and mediation teacher,

a somatic yoga and Pilates instructor,

and a licensed massage therapist, Thai massage therapist, and certified lymphatic drainage therapist.

Through my own personal journey of trauma, mental illness, and neurodivergence, movement and meditation have helped me learn about myself, manage my symptoms, and live life more fully.

When I reflect on my life, I notice that the times where I felt most at ease I was:

  • Outdoors a lot, in nature

  • Moving daily

  • Eating intentionally

  • Sleeping regularly, deeply

  • Not emotionally eating, drinking alcohol, or using other drugs

  • Engaged in regular self-care, including bodywork

  • Engaged in regular self-exploration, self-discovery, including therapy

  • Expressing gratitude

  • Developing and cultivating deep, joyful, meaningful social connections

I love curating offerings which empower others to help themselves, attend to the needs of the whole being including the nervous system, and help facilitate multi-faceted wellness.

Collaborators:

Claire hosts women’s circles.

She is a cat mom, nature lover, and lunar enthusiast. She believes in the power of collective energy and creates experiences for women honoring and supporting their intentions, prayers, and visions. She is working on trusting herself and settling back into being a Human BEing, not a Human Doing. Claire is also the host of The Hideaway at Mason Lake and delights in providing calm and nurturing spaces for people to have intimate and life-affirming experiences.

Shirlene creates sacred sounds for various events.

Albert Einstein said that “future medicine will be the medicine of frequencies.” If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. It allows us to heal on many different levels. All you have to do is get comfortable, relax, and let sound out your body in a meditative state. It’s pure and it’s love.

Hunter Severt

Hunter co-facilitates our community dance events.

Movement has always been her language. From a very young age, she found that moving (crawling, leaping, rolling) expressed her emotions in ways that words could not. She loves the curiosity and wonder she feels when she allows herself to really move.

Theresa Norris

Theresa is a certified self-defense instructor.

She rents the studio on the weekends to lead self defense classes for adults and children. Theresa has extensive training because she wanted to not only learn herself, but also to empower and educate everyone in her community on how to properly and successfully defend themselves. She hopes to see you in class and to show you that self-defense is for everyone! You can find her at C.O.B.R.A. Self Defense - Gig Harbor.

Princess Jasper Marie

Therapy Dog in Training

“Jasper” is currently studying for her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) skills test, which is the first step toward her Therapy Dog Certification. A therapy dog is very different from a service dog, and also very different from an emotional support animal (ESA)! Therapy dogs provide a calm, loving presence for people experiencing anxiety, dementia and neurological disorders, cognitive differences, psychiatric disorders, chronic and terminal illness, etc. They may visit hospitals, assisted living facilities, schools, disaster areas, and many other places where people need a little extra unconditional love.

Jasper is on-site most days. If you need to come in on a day when she is NOT here, please call to schedule.

What is Maitrī?

Maitrī (मैत्री) /m-uh-y-t-r-ee/ or in American English simply /My-tree/, is loving-kindness toward the self, which radiates out to others.

When we learn to truly love and accept ourselves, only then can we begin to truly love and accept others.

Other common translations may include acceptance, kindness, friendliness, benevolence, amity, good will, and/or active interest toward self and others that is unconditional, courageous, and/or generous.

Maitrī Movement was founded in 2013 as “Restore.” As the focus became more about full and multi-faceted self care encompassing mind, body, and spirit in addition to massage and body work, the name also grew to reflect this. Maitrī is a concept we can apply to all we do. And movement can apply to our bodies, our tissues, and our lymph; it can imply shifting our thinking, or illuminating our spirits.
